Professor Malli Gandhi is presently working as Professor and Head Department of Education in Social Sciences and Humanities, Regional Institute of Education, NCERT, Mysore (Under the ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi). His areas of interest are: Social Sciences, Indian History, Colonial Anthropology, Education, Indian Constitution and Human Rights, Tribal Education, Development of Marginalized Groups, Subaltern Studies and Nomadic, Semi-Nomadic and Denotified Communities.
He has authored several books including: Development of Denotified Communities:Policy and Practice, New Delhi, 2006, Denotified Tribes:Dimensions of Change, New Delhi, 2007, Tribes Under Stigma Problems of Identity, New Delhi, 2009, Educating Tribal Children:Issues, Concerns and Remedies, New Delhi, 2010, Denotofied Tribes:Retrospect and Prospect, New Delhi, 2016, Tribal Culture in Andhra and Telangana: Tradition and Change, New Delhi, 2017, Educating Ex-Criminal Tribes:Issues and Concerns, New Delhi, 2017. Presently he is working on Tribal Justice, Pedagogy of Teaching Social Sciences, Enforcing Criminality: Application of Criminal Tribes Acts on Certain Communities in India and so on. He has authored several Articles in International and National Journals and conducted several research, training, in service, pre-service taring courses/programmes in RIE, Mysore.
