It is the vision of the Director of NCERT to develop natural /organic farming in all RIEs, which led to the development of organic farming model in RIE, Mysuru. During the event, Prof. Y Sreekanth, Principal, RIE Mysuru along with field staff of Agriculture Section of the Institute witnessed the luxurious growth of fodder crop. The harvested fodder was then taken to dairy unit where cattle are being maintained. The cattle consumed complete fodder hay which ensures the preference of the animals for green fodder especially during the summer weeks. Prof. Y Sreekanth along with Dr. Rajappa J.J., Senior Scientist, ICAR-CTRI instructed the field staff in farm about care to be taken while growth of fodder crop in field and also on suitable time to harvest the fodder for efficient grass feeding to cattle in dairy unit.
