3. Teaching: B. Sc. B.Ed Zoology and M.Sc. Environmental Science Teaching Interests Expertise in core biological sciences, including Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Developmental Biology, Physiology, Genetics, and Immunology. I deliver advanced courses in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, and Laboratory/Research Methodology, combining theory with practical application. My interests extend to emerging topics such as infectious diseases, metabolic and lifestyle disorders, and cutting-edge protein and antibody engineering. Committed to developing innovative curricula and digital e-content, I aim to enhance learning experiences across secondary, undergraduate, and postgraduate education levels |
4. RESEARCH Research Area & Interests My research focuses on elucidating the molecular mechanisms of multidrug resistance (MDR) in cancer to improve therapeutic efficacy. I investigate protein-protein and protein-drug interactions to identify new therapeutic targets and design small molecules for precision drug delivery. Structural and functional characterization of large biomolecular assemblies, including their cellular localization, is a key focus area. In viral biology, I explore host-pathogen interactions, particularly how viral membrane proteins contribute to infection cycles, using advanced structural biology techniques and cellular imaging. Key themes include: Understanding cancer progression and overcoming chemotherapy resistance by studying molecular determinants like drug-efflux pumps and apoptotic pathway alterations. Designing protein-based therapeutics that modulate ligand-receptor interactions critical for cell growth, immune response, and apoptosis—applying rational design and directed evolution for enhanced therapeutic potential. Investigating the 14-3-3 protein family’s role in cell signaling, tumor suppression, and its potential as a target for novel cancer therapies, with a focus on isoform-specific interactions. Study investigates how HPV proteins interfere with cellular tumor suppressor pathways, contributing to cervical cancer. By understanding virus–host protein interactions, new strategies for drug development and intervention are targeted.
Vision My vision is to cultivate a research-driven, inquiry-based learning environment where foundational biological knowledge is integrated with hands-on experience and critical analysis. I strive to innovate education through curriculum advancement and cutting-edge research, preparing students and educators to excel as leaders in interdisciplinary biological sciences. _______________________________________________________________________________ Doctoral Study (2007-2012) Conducted biophysical studies on protein folding and crystallography at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), focusing on how polypeptides self-assemble into functional three-dimensional structures essential for enzyme and antibody activity.
